Powered by a 2.3 litre engine in 100ps, 125ps and 150ps power outputs via a six speed gearbox as standard with an optional semi-automatic box on some models, you can expect fuel economy figures from the NV400 to range between 29mpg and 34mpg depending on front or rear wheel drive and engine size. All engines pull well although for the larger NV400’s a 125ps or 150ps is advisable especially with heavier loads.
Unlike Vauxhall the NV400 is not offered with a stop start option however the SE spec does have ESC and ASR traction control as standard on all variants not just rear wheel drive models as well as Rear parking sensors and auto door locking at speeds above 5mph. Service intervals are not as good as some of the rival vans but are still decent at 25,000 miles with a comprehensive three-year or 100,000 mile warranty.
There are only two version of the basic model so the SE spec is most likely the model you would opt for giving you cruise control, driver’s armrest, electric windows and mirrors, a folding central seat with computer table and trip computer as standard with other optional extras available. A good commanding driving position and good visibility makes the Cabin of the NV400 a comfortable place to be.
An easy to drive van with plenty of load space on the larger models. Good spec on the SE model.
